Jim and Justine acquired the name Grandmother's Thimble in April 2001 after the owner decided to give up the business. At the same time we were approved for the Bernina dealership. We soon found a store front in Vestal, NY. We opened in May 2001 with almost 3000 sq. ft. On our first floor we had sewing machines and fabric. On the second floor we had classes and repairs.
In 2005 we had the opportunity to expand the first floor into the center section of the building. This gave us more sales floor space and more classrooms. And best of all we didn't have to carry machines upstairs!
Jim is an authorized Bernina technician and enjoys working on all brands of machines.
